International Lutheran Layman's League

The International Lutheran Layman's League is a global movement of Christians empowered and equipped to communicate the Gospel of Christ to all people. You can read more about ILLL at the Lutheran Hour Ministries (LHM) Website. The LHM provides the Church and its people with response-driven media outreach tools, related service opportunities and ministry skills to bring Christ to the Nations and the Nations to the Church.

Lutheran Church Missouri Synod

The Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS) was established on April 26, 1847. Twelve pastors representing 15 congregations signed a constitution that established "The German Evangelical Lutheran Synod of Missouri, Ohio and Other States." The name was changed to LCMS over fifty years ago. The original constitution was written in German, but today the primary language is English. Nonetheless, the LCMS includes people from a variety of countries and has an international presence.

The Texas District of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod was formed in 1906. The members of the Texas District are congregations and ministries located within the state of Texas, with the exception of El Paso County. The Texas District seeks to strengthen congregations to reach the lost, disciple the saved and care for people - locally and globally.

The Lone Star District includes most of Texas (the El Paso area is in another district). The "lone star" comes from the Texas state flag which denotes the only state which was an independent republic before joining the United States of America.
